HOW BACK2ROAD STARTED
Back2Road Mobile Tyre & Battery Service was founded by Sunny after around five years working in roadside assistance with NRMA in Sydney. During that time, he regularly attended to customers stranded with flat tyres, damaged tyres and other roadside emergencies and noticed the same request coming up again and again: “Can you supply and fit a new tyre here on the spot?”
Under the service he was working for at the time, that simply wasn’t possible. But the gap was obvious. Drivers on the side of the road didn’t just need someone to check the problem; they needed someone who could bring the right tyre to them, fit it on the spot, and get them safely back on the road, without a tow truck or a trip to a workshop.
That gap became Back2Road. For the past 4 years, Sunny has been running Back2Road, helping customers across Sydney with mobile tyre and battery emergencies, puncture repairs, on-the-spot tyre replacements, jump-starts and battery changeovers, wherever the customer happens to be stuck.
The philosophy behind the business has stayed the same from day one: never take advantage of someone because they’re in an emergency. Sunny has approximately 9 years of hands-on roadside assistance experience: around five years with NRMA roadside assistance in Sydney, followed by roughly 4 years running Back2Road.
